Overview,
Our team was approached with a request to develop an app that would bridge the gap between medicine seekers and medicine providers (pharmacies) in Sri Lanka. The primary problem was that it was not easy to find urgent medicine in nearby pharmacies. The goal of the app was to enable users to request necessary medicine, find pharmacies that stock the required medication, and contact them for purchase or check their location.
Challenge,
The primary challenge in developing Medoze was to create a platform that would connect medicine seekers with nearby pharmacies effectively. We had to develop a user-friendly and intuitive interface that would enable users to find the medicine they required and locate nearby pharmacies that had the required medication.
Another challenge was to ensure that the app was secure and protected the privacy of the users. We had to ensure that the app was protected from potential cyber threats and that users' sensitive information was secure.
Solution,
To develop Medoze, we first started with designing a UI that was intuitive and user-friendly. We conducted several user surveys to ensure that our design catered to the needs of the users. Once we finalized the UI design, we started working on the app development.
We used Java for the app development and Firebase for the back end. Java is a robust and versatile programming language that allowed us to create an app that catered to the users' needs. Firebase, on the other hand, allowed us to provide real-time data syncing between the app and the server, ensuring that users had up-to-date information on nearby pharmacies that stock the required medication.
We integrated Firebase Authentication to provide secure and hassle-free authentication for the users. This ensured that the app was protected from potential cyber threats and that users' sensitive information was secure.
The app's interface was designed to be intuitive and straightforward, making it easy for users to navigate and use. We incorporated a search function that enabled users to find the medicine they required quickly. The app also provided information on the availability of the medication in nearby pharmacies and allowed users to contact the pharmacy to check the availability or purchase the medication.
We implemented various security measures, such as two-factor authentication, and data encryption, to ensure that the app was protected from potential cyber threats. We also conducted thorough testing to ensure that the app was secure and protected the privacy of the users.
Results,
Medoze was a success, and users were delighted with the outcome. The app provided a platform for medicine seekers and providers to connect effectively, enabling users to find the required medication quickly and easily.
